MISSION of BOHECO
In June 2013, the Kedarnath Valley of Uttarakhand, where pilgrims pay homage to the Kedarnath shrine, witnessed unseasonal flash floods claiming the lives of thousands.
Many families lost their breadwinners, and the women had to find means to run their households, families, and fields. In no time, they learnt embroidery, weaving, spinning, and painting to revive to a good livelihood.
Today, their collective spirit runs the Mandakini Women Weavers Co-operative in the Kedarnath valley.
B Label Handlooms is our effort to connect these self-sustaining, decentralised units in the remote mountains of Kedarnath to global markets.
